It looks like daily deals sites are now dominating the Philippine e-commerce arena. Here comes a new daily deals site to battle with CashCashPinoy and Metrodeal in the form of iGrab.ph.

iGrab is a members-only, virtual shopping outlet that offers products similar to those on CashCashPinoy ແລະ Metrodeal. The new deals site is divided into several categories like cuisine, destinations, market, and catalogue. Like other deals sites, the products under these categories are being offered at discounted prices.

iGrab has collaborated with a number of businesses to be an online partner. These partners will be able to use the iGrab website as a storefront to sell their items online. By visiting the site, I notice that its main difference with other deals sites in the country is that it caters to more high-end brands like Adidas, Puma, Mango, and Guess. But iGrab doesn’t directly ship items to customers, so buyers have to visit the startup’s physical store to pick up their purchases.

That iGrab physical store is in Newport Mall at Resorts World Manila. Aside from pick-ups, this will act as a hub for members to collect coupons. This physical store will display items currently featured on the website, but it will also have special offers only available at the store. iGrab states that by letting members visit the store, it gives the company’s staff a chance to interact with members. However, since the store is located in Metro Manila, it now becomes a possible barrier to tapping customers outside the Metro.

The new site has a raffle promo this month with a Samsung Note 8.0 up for grabs to someone who signs up or purchases an offer of at least PHP 100 ($2.30) on the deals site. iGrab went live last October 2012 as a soft launch. It has already accumulated over 187,00 fans on its ຫນ້າເຟສບຸກ since then.

Can iGrab also be one of the top players in the Philippine daily deals competition, which Metrodeal currently leads? ແນ່ນອນ, there are plenty of other rivals in this space too.
